Paul Tasong, Minister Delegate at the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, in charge of Planning, is leading Cameroon’s delegation to Morocco for the 7th International Africa Development Forum (FIAD), scheduled for 27-28 June 2024 in Casablanca. This event is organised by the Attijariwafa-Bank Group under the theme “Here, we invest”.
Cameroon’s participation in FIAD 2024 is a significant opportunity to strengthen economic relations with other African countries, attract new investment and promote ongoing development initiatives. This will be an opportunity to underline the importance of the private sector in the structural transformation of Cameroon’s economy, and above all to highlight Government efforts to involve and promote the private sector in achieving Vision 2035 of the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya.
The International Africa Development Forum (FIAD) is a reference platform for the African public and private sectors in terms of trade, investment and intra-African cooperation. Initiated by the Africa Development Club (CAD) of SCB, a subsidiary of the Attijariwafa-Bank Group, this initiative aims at strengthening intra-continental business corridors.
Since its creation, FIAD has organised 37 multi-sector missions in 10 countries, bringing together nearly 21,000 participants, business and government leaders from 40 countries. To date, more than 25,500 structured business meetings have been held in key sectors such as agro-industry, infrastructure and public works, telecoms, healthcare and energy. These sectors are also strategic priorities for Cameroon as part of its 2020-2030 National Development Strategy (NDS30).
