Budget support: The World Bank approves a new disbursement of 120 billion FCFA to Cameroon

The World Bank’s Board of Directors, convening on March 14, 2025, approved the second Development Policy Support Operation for Fiscal Sustainability, Inclusive and Sustainable Growth for the Republic of Cameroon.

At the end of the meeting, the World Bank’s Board of Directors also approved a disbursement in favor of Cameroon of 200 million US dollars, or nearly 120 billion FCFA bringing the total budget support received from this partner since the program’s conclusion in 2022 to 300 million US dollars, approximately 180 billion FCFA.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the implementation by the Government, under the distinguished leadership of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, of reforms aimed at accelerating decentralization, strengthening governance and  state-owned enterprises, improving domestic revenue mobilization and treasury management, promoting economic inclusion with a particular emphasis  on women’s participation, and sustainably enhancing the road network, transport infrastructure, and water resource management.
