The Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey has received the Minister of State for Development and Africa, Rt. Hon Andrew Mitchell, accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Christian Dennys-McClure this April 5 2023 at his MINEPAT Cabinet.

At the end of the audience, Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell revealed that the meeting was an opportunity for him, the British High Commissioner Christian Dennys-McClure and the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development to discuss on how to boost trade and development between Cameroon and Britain. Importantly, they looked into the number of specific projects which are of interest to Britain companies, and how to advance these projects. They equally paid attention to the fact that some of the projects are taking quite a long time to realize and discussed on how to speed up the process so that the contracts can be delivered in time.
Minister of State for Development and Africa, Rt. Hon Andrew Mitchell saluted the extent of the trade between Cameroon and Britain last year that hit nearly 8000 million pounds and in term of percentages is one of the biggest increases in trade for Britain in Africa. On behalf of the British Delegation he affirmed that they want to be sure that Britain, through the use of its business implementation is standing shoulder to shoulder with Cameroon on getting these development projects done and ensuring that these countries drive forth development in Cameroon with Britain’s very strong support.
